AMF Head Professional Division

AMF Golf Management was created by golf professionals for the benefit of golf professionals. AMF's mission is to assist our members to increase their job's value and their value to their facility while maximizing their professional opportunities. To accomplish these goals, AMF has developed and created numerous unique concepts, documents, and services and is continually looking to add new services that assist in navigating through the golf industry's changing landscape.

AMF currently provides the following services to our head professional members:

Golf Operations Survey
AMF conducts a comprehensive golf operations survey of our members on an annual basis. This unique database is available for our members to access.

Contract Review
Assistance with contract negotiations and contract review. When your contract comes up for review or you consider a new job offer, our staff counsel will review your contract with you.

Assistant Golf Professional Job Postings
Exclusive access to the AMF Job Announcement Board including the ability for you to broadcast open positions on your staff exclusively to other AMF members.

Business Operations Templates
Member-only business templates including cutting-edge information for monthly and year-end reporting, employee evaluations and head professional job descriptions.

Strategic Partner Benefits and Discounts
AMF has created strategic partnerships with companies that provide exclusive member benefits for key business needs.

Unique Education/Networking Opportunities
Invitations to AMF's Annual Meeting each January, AMF's Annual Head Professional Division Summit each fall and all AMF Regional Town Meetings to be held at top facilities around the country throughout the year. These events offer members a unique chance to network with other head professionals, gain access to industry best practices and acquire new strategies for growing your business.

Access to Interactive Member's Only Website
Members can ask for and give advice on any subject to other members on the website's member message boards. The website also offers instant access to AMF's business templates, job postings and other time-sensitive information.

Member Newsletter
AMF's information-filled monthly member newsletter that provides insight into the state of the golf industry, cutting-edge business strategies, strategies for growing your bottom line, and, of course, comprehensive news on AMF member events.

Member Assistance Program
Members have access to our MAP program administered by Bensinger & Dupont to provide up to three consultations at no-charge for work-related stress, alcohol or drug problems and financial issues. These benefits are also extended to our members' immediate family. These services are provided with complete confidentiality.

Golf Professional Retirement and Exit Strategies
AMF has recruited the expertise of industry veterans Bob Ross (Baltusrol GC) and Mike Reynolds (Wheatley Hills) to assist in developing resources for our members when retirement approaches.

Out-placement Services
AMF has developed comprehensive services to assist our members when their employment status changes.  These include resume revision and development, interview strategies, assistance in the search for a new position and networking opportunities.

AMF is committed to assisting Assistant Golf Professionals in all stages of their careers and offers a limited number of associate memberships to assistant professionals who are serious about growing their careers. AMF services for our assistant golf professional members include:

  • Professional presentation review and evaluation
  • Interview strategy assistance
  • Members-only newsletter
  • Educational programs and seminars
  • Assistant pro and teaching assistant job announcements from our Head Pro and Instructor members

Additional Services for First-year Head Golf Professionals

The first year as a Head Golf Professional can be overwhelming. Therefore, AMF has developed a program to assist our young professionals when moving to the next level. Our First-year Head Golf Professional program offers assistance during this critical time with the following services:

  • Contract review
  • Advice on setting up your business
  • Counsel on business and personnel issues that arise
  • Development of an Action Plan to be presented to club management prior to the start of the season that illustrates the goals of the golf program.
  • Completion of a comprehensive year-end report that illustrates how the Action Plan was fulfilled and sets the course for future success.
